New from Microsoft Live Labs: Volta
Microsoft might net be as active recently as Google with developping various online tools and software utilities, but it definitely does show some progress. So, what do we have here?
Microsoft’s Volta technology is a developer toolset that enables you to build multi-tier web applications by applying familiar techniques and patterns. Developers prototype the application first as an entirely client application; afterwards the compiler takes care of the client code, server code, and boilerplate code that ties the two tiers, handling such functions as communication, serialization, and security.
How to get started?
- Download and install Volta.
- Follow the Getting Started guide to build your first application.
- See the developer guidance for more detailed examples and patterns.
- Tier-split until your heart is content. That’s all.
