Diptyque Home Fragrance Range

Diptyque began its story in Paris in the 1960’s. Diptyque was the vision of three creative who wanted to design beautiful things inspired by all things art deco and art nouveau. These artist movements feature highly decorative objects and shapes, influenced by nature; this can be seen in the Diptyque products available today, some of which I’ve invested in – as I love a sweet smelling home!

Hourglass Diffusers

The Hourglass Diffusers, part of the Diptyque Home Fragrance’s Range are a fab alternative to scented candles. Ordered online from Selfridges the Hourglass Diffuser came neatly and compactly packaged and within a beautiful Diptyque gift box.

Just like an hourglass full of sand, this original take on a vintage piece offers you a contemporary, decorative object but filled with sweet, delicious fragrance! The curvy shape and clean colours make this a very easy object to place in your home. And the logo on top of the hourglass is a lovely touch. You can be reminded that this fragrance comes from a truly creative, passionate company who work tirelessly to bring you quality.

To start diffusing the fragrance you simply flip the hourglass, the scent soaks the wick in the centre of the hourglass and the fragrance begins to circulate the room. The fragrance takes around 20 minutes to come through, and fills a space up to 20 square metres.

I chose the rose scent hourglass. Its scent is beautifully light and fresh, as if you had a freshly cut bouquet of roses sitting in a vase all the time. The way the scent drips slowly through the centre of the hourglass is therapeutic and calming. The hourglass sits well within most décors due to its subtle, contemporary appearance.

This diffuser, which costs (a brave) £100, if flipped up to 4 times a day will last around 2 and a half months. I say brave, but this hourglass in a long-term investment for quality, so worth stumping up the cash for.

When the scent eventually runs out the hourglass can be refilled twice. The Hourglass Diffuser Refill costs a more manageable £34.

Limited Edition Rosa Mundi Scented Oval

The Rosa Mundi Scented Oval is an alternative, charming room fragrance. A white porcelain medallion shaped frame stamped with the famous Rosa Mundi design and framed with the Diptyque logo motif. This is a beautifully vintage piece adorned with pretty ribbon so you can hang this up. It looks lovely in a French inspired bedroom or bathroom. It fills the room with the most delicate and exclusive roses used in perfumery. These are Damascena (the Damask Rose) and Centifolia (the May Rose). The scented oval is £34 and lasts at least three months – well worth the investment!
