Anyone who knows me knows the love affair that I share with my bed. Back in my younger days, I was a true morning person. I was early to rise to catch that worm and all that. The older I become, however, the more I enjoy the simple pleasures of a good lie in. This is even if it’s a week day and I REALLY should be getting up and ready for work!
Now I like a cosy bed. A nice warm duvet and a lovely thick bedspread over the top for that extra bit of decadence. I also like my bed to look inviting and stylish when I’m not in it. This is why I’m always on the look-out for new bed linen, and especially like the new range at Home of Linen. I love bright colours and funky patterns as the décor in my bedroom is quite neutral. It is calm and serene, so a little splash of colour in my bedding really stands out. Scrolling through Pinterest on my lunch break (we all do it don’t we) this particular bed spread from little home at John Lewis caught my eye. I am so glad it did as it looks perfect in my spare bedroom.
Not just for kids
Little home at John Lewis may describe themselves as a brand designed around children, but many of their pieces are not childish in the slightest. They have a very grown up feel about many of their interior design pieces such as furniture as well as soft furnishings. This particular single sized bedspread caught my eye thanks to its on-trend geometric designs and bright primary colours. The simple design leads you to think of tribal patterns and with its variety of colours, it fits flawlessly into any bedroom colour scheme.
The important bits
Ok so we have established that this bedspread is a beauty to look at and makes my guest bedroom look and feel like an exotic hideaway- but that is not the best part. This bedspread is machine washable! Now anyone who has kids or has been around children knows the mess they are inexplicitly capable of making and so a bedspread that can be thrown in the washing machine- life saver! It can also be tumble dried too but you must be careful to do this on a low heat.
The little home bedspread can be bought from John Lewis online and their website offers free standard delivery. You can pay a little extra for next day delivery or you can choose the day you would like the delivery man to turn up- perfect for those of us with busy lives. Alternatively, you can click and collect from your nearest store which is what I did. It’s a great excuse for a browse around the rest of the shop and pop to the café for some of the cake- also what I did!
So whether you have a child’s bedroom you wish to jazz up or a spare room in need of a splash of colour, this bedspread is a perfect choice. Now not only will my guests marvel at my style choices and interior décor skills; they will be warm and toasty as they do.
